Monthly meetings
What Are Monthly Meetings?
Leading up to our formal constituting as a church on June 4th, we will have several core team meetings. The purpose of these meetings is to gather as a founding team and consider the theological agreement necessary for this local church. Meetings will include singing, teaching, Q&A times and fellowship. While occasional guests may be given special permission to attend these meetings, we’d like to reserve these times for those interested in being on the founding team of Exalting Christ Church.

Preaching

Without question, the most important thing about a church is how it stewards the preaching of God’s Word. That’s why this will be our first value to reflect on. In this meeting we want to consider how faithful preaching displays the glory of the person and work of Christ through rightly dividing the Word.

God deserves worship that is faith-filled and full-bodied. This comprehensive devotion isn’t only as we obey him out in the world, but also when we gather to worship Him as a church. Because of this, we want to reflect on how God’s Word calls God’s people to abundantly adore Him.

Through the church the manifold wisdom of God is made known and displayed. This understanding shapes all that we do as a church for it shapes how we glorify God. We want to think well about how each member properly works together, so that the body builds itself up in love.

God has saved and will save people from among the nations. Therefore, we believe this ethnically-diverse reality should be joyfully reflected by churches in ethnically-diverse areas. We long that our church display a harmony among saints highlighting the scope of redemption in the gospel.

Evangelistic Zeal

Part of being worshippers of God, is being witnesses for Christ. As a church, therefore, we want everything we do to promote and adorn the beautiful gospel of Jesus. We preach Him and Him crucified—to the praise of God’s glorious grace, for the edification of the church and toward the lost's salvation.

Order & the Ordinances

One of the helpful conclusions articulated in Reformed Protestant history concerned the definition of a church. It rightly taught that what marks off a church is the Word rightly preached, and the ordinances rightly administered. We want to consider how this truth is taught in Scripture.

Exalting Christ Through Family-like Fellowship

Jesus taught that how we love one another in the church demonstrates our commitment to him. One of the sweetest arrangements supplied through salvation is a share among the people of God. As a church, we want to cultivate fellowship that increasingly reflects our familial bond in Christ.
